In situ pads, roads and corridors can also be reclaimed as they are retired.
Environmental and reclamation context
Earlier reclamation is real progress because it reduces the amount of land left entirely to final closure.
What to keep in mind
The useful measure is progress relative to total disturbance and outstanding tailings liability, not simply whether some reclamation has occurred.
